Our Story
For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed of opening a cozy bookstore. Later, when my daughter fell in love with coffee, I started imagining what it would look like to combine both loves into one warm, welcoming space.
After my father passed, he left me some money, and I knew I wanted to use it to build something meaningful - something that would honor him. He raised me on the Beatles, and I raised my daughter on them too, so the name Blackbird felt especially fitting.
Blackbird Books & Coffee is more than just a business name. It's a tribute to my dad, the biggest Beatles fan I've ever known, and to the love of books, music, comfort, and connection that inspired this dream in the first place.

Ella (aka “the daughter”) is in charge of everything coffee related! She’s also the one you probably see on our social media!
Danny
April’s dad and Ella’s grandpa! He’s responsible for our love of the Beatles and the one who made Blackbird possible.
